Twin County Regional Healthcare Presents DAISY Award
August 05, 2025
Twin County Regional Healthcare is proud to recognize Teagan Morgan, RN, as the latest recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This national recognition is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to honor nurses who go above and beyond in delivering compassionate and skillful care every day.
The DAISY Award—which stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away in 1999 from complications of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), an autoimmune disease. During his illness, Patrick’s family was deeply moved by the exceptional care and compassion shown by the nursing staff. In his memory, they created the DAISY Foundation to recognize the unsung heroes of healthcare—nurses who make a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families.
Teagan Morgan exemplifies the very essence of the DAISY Award. Known for her kindness, dedication, and calming presence, Teagan consistently goes above and beyond her clinical duties to ensure her patients feel seen, heard, and comforted. Her compassion not only uplifts those in her care but also inspires her fellow team members every day.
“Teagan is a shining example of the heart and humanity behind great nursing,” said William Alley, MHA, BSN, RN, Chief Executive Officer of Twin County Regional Healthcare. “We are incredibly proud of her and grateful for the extraordinary care she provides to both our patients and her colleagues. She is a vital part of our team and embodies the values we strive to uphold each day—compassion, integrity, and excellence. Honoring her with the DAISY Award is just one small way we can express our appreciation for the lasting impact she makes.”
The DAISY Award is presented in more than 5,000 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing across the U.S. and in 36 other countries. Each honoree receives a DAISY Award pin, a hand-carved “Healer’s Touch” sculpture, and recognition at a public ceremony.
Twin County Regional Healthcare congratulates Teagan Morgan on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for the vital role she plays in making our community healthier and stronger every day.
