Twin County Regional Hospital's Intensive Care Unit offers complete 24 hour/ 7 day a week specialized care in an 8-bed unit. The all RN nursing staff provides advanced, comprehensive care to critical or potentially critical patients.

Visitation hours: 7 am - 9 pm.

Quiet time for patients is dedicated between the hours of 2 pm - 4 pm which allows rest, limited visits, and testing.

Our services include multi-system support and monitoring, close observation, specialized treatments and medications. Staff are trained to read electrocardiograms and in the use of specific monitors and equipment.

Objectives of the ICU:

To manage the care of physiologically unstable patients.
To provide an environment which will be conducive to early detection of complications.
To provide high-risk patients immediate skilled care in the event of an emergency.
To provide management and care for patients requiring sophisticated medical equipment and treatments.
To provide necessary instrumentation for comfort, pain control, diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions.
To provide referral and/or transfer for patients whose needs exceed our capabilities.

Visiting Policy:

In order to provide optimal care for our patients, VISITING TIMES MUST BE LIMITED AND STRICTLY ENFORCED. No more than two visitors are allowed to visit the patient at the provided visiting times.

* Ten minute visiting periods at the following times:

8:00am - 8:10am
9:00am - 9:10am
11:00am - 11:10am
1:00pm - 1:10pm
3:00pm - 3:10pm
5:00pm - 5:10pm
7:45pm - 8:00pm

* Exceptions will be made in serious emergencies or in end-of-life situations.
* Restrictions will be enforced if necessary for patients welfare and recovery.
* As situations arise when it is not desirable or feasible for visitors to be in the patient care area, visitations may be refused or limited. No unsupervised children are allowed to visit in the ICU. Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
