Twin County Regional Healthcare (TCRH) will begin offering Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to assess the structure and function of the heart. TEE is a test that produces pictures of your heart, using high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to make detailed pictures of your heart and the arteries that lead to and from it.
“TEE can give clearer images of the heart than standard echocardiograms,” said Dr. Alan Hurty, cardiologist. “These clearer images allow us to discover problems such as aortic aneurysm, blood clots, congenital heart disease and other life-threatening problems that need to be seen up-close and in a timely manner.”
“We are excited to add this to our wide range of services,” said Sudandra Ratnasamy, CEO of Twin County Regional Healthcare. “We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality of care available.”
