Ultrasound / Echocardiography
Location
We are located on the first floor between the emergency department and the lab. Drive around past the ED entrance and turn right into the diagnostic imaging parking lot. There is an outpatient diagnostic imaging entrance that will bring you directly into the registration area.
Hours of Operation
Ultrasound procedures are performed Mon. - Fri. 8am to 8pm.
Echocardiograms are performed Mon. - Fri. 8am to 3pm.
Procedure Information
A physician's order is REQUIRED for your Ultrasound/Echo to be performed.
Ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of the body.
Echocardiography uses sound waves to image the heart.
Certain procedures performed in Ultrasound, such as biopsies or drainages also need to be scheduled with outpatient surgery. If you are unsure, please ask at the time of scheduling.

- Thyroid
- Pyloric Stenosis (infants)
- Neonatal spine
- Soft tissue neck
- Carotid Arteries
- Thoracentesis
- Kidneys
- Bladder
- Aorta
- Abdomen-Liver, gallbladder, pancreas
- Abdominal (liver) Doppler
- Venous Doppler Extremities (upper and lower)
- Arterial Doppler Extremities (upper and lower)
- OB (1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester)
- Pelvis (Uterus and Ovaries)
- Scrotum
- Paracentesis
- Diagnostic Breast
The following are common echocardiography procedures include:
- Echocardiograms
- Contrasted Echocardiograms
- Bubble enhanced Echocardiograms
- Transesophageal Echocardiograms
- Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms
- Treadmill Stress Echocardiograms
