Childbirth Education/Newborn Care Class
Healthy Pregnancy, Healthy Baby
You and your support partner are provided with the information and skills needed to help you prepare for your labor and birth experience. Each class is a four week series and covers such topics as breathing and relaxation techniques, the labor partner's role, variations of labor, the labor and birth process, adjustment to parenthood, changing feelings and many other details of labor and birth.
The fourth and last night of class will include newborn care topics for infant care in the first weeks at home with your new baby. You will learn the basics of diapering, bathing, dressing, taking temperatures, umbilical cord stump care, circumcision care, burping, breast and bottle feeding tips, positioning, swaddling and much more.
Plan to attend this class in the beginning of your third trimester. Classes are free.
All classes are held at Twin County Regional Hospital in the Twin County Room on the Ground Floor from 6:00pm to 8:00pm unless otherwise indicated:
