Grayson
Highlands State Park - Many people refer to this park
as Virginia's most beautiful. The park is adjacent to the Mount
Rogers National Recreation Area that is part of Jefferson National
Forest.
Grayson County Recreation Park - The Grayson County Recreation Park is located on the northeast side of Independence.
The park has a nice swimming pool, two baseball diamonds and a picnic area with shelters.
Carroll County Public Schools - Carroll County High School is a three-year, public, comprehensive high school with a full range of curriculum offerings in academic and vocational subjects.
Galax City Public Schools - Galax High School is a comprehensive 8-12 high school located in Galax, Virginia.

Highland Camerata - The Highland Camerata is a 26 year-old, non-profit regional chorus. Its purpose is to provide a musical outlet for the members as well as to provide the community musical education and entertainment through the medium of live performance.
