Carroll County High School is a three-year, public, comprehensive high school with a full range of curriculum offerings in academic and vocational subjects.
The curricula at CCHS covers a broad spectrum of courses designed to meet the educational needs of all students. In addition to core curriculum offerings, courses are
available in the areas of fine arts, physical education, foreign language, and vocational education. Advanced academic courses available to students at CCHS include
dual-credit English and biology, as well as advanced placement English, chemistry, calculus, and history. Wytheville Community College offers psychology during the
regular school day, however students do not receive credit toward graduation for the class. In addition to offerings at the high school, students may participate in
advanced math and science courses at the Southwest Virginia Governor’s School.

Galax High School is a comprehensive 8-12 high school located in Galax, Virginia. The City of Galax is located on
the boundary between Grayson County and Carroll County. Galax High School serves approximately 350 students with
approximately seventy percent attending college upon graduation. Galax High School is fully accredited by the Virginia
Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. GHS is an approved High Schools That Work site.
Galax High School believes that its mission is to prepare all students for further learning and productive employment.

Oak Hill Academy is a coeducational, Baptist
affiliated, boarding/day high school committed to excellence in education and adolescent development in a non-military
setting. The mission of Oak Hill Academy is to provide a safe, secure, nurturing environment for girls and boys needing
a change in school, peer, community or family relationships. Oak Hill seeks to provide a structured educational program to
girls and boys in grades 8-12. Oak Hill's curriculum challenges the brightest student and encourages those who are unmotivated,
underachievers or experiencing difficulty in their school setting. The Academy is situated on a campus of 250 acres and woodlands
with landscaped areas, playing fields, outdoor tennis courts, and riding arena. Administrative offices and the school dining room
are located in the Vaughan Building at the center of the campus. All academic classes are held in Louise Towles English Academic
Building (1989). This building also contains a library, computer center, and learning resource center. The Turner Building contains
the gymnasium, music practice rooms, student activities center, and athletic director's office. The Rev. J. F. Fletcher Chapel provides
an auditorium, music practice rooms, and a conference center. Male students are housed in four dormitories with a total capacity of 110.
Two apartments for resident managers are located in the building. The Hough Dormitory accommodates 98 girls in two-room suites. Eleven houses
and apartments are provided on campus for faculty and staff members in addition to apartments in the dormitories.
